About Dr. Basra


Dr. Basra received his MD at Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines in 1991.  He completed his Internship in Family Practice at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Dr. Basra completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at University of Nevada in Reno, Nevada and spent an additional year as Chief Resident at University of Nevada.

Doctor-Patient Relationship:


Dr. Basra makes a special effort to explain everything to you regarding your condition and medications.  Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions or if something is not clear to you. If you still have problems in retaining information passed on to you during your visit, consider writing down notes of your conversation with the doctor or consider bringing in a trusted friend or family member to assist you.  Dr. Basra may hand out pamphlet(s) on your condition and this may reinforce some of the information imparted during your visit.

The office personnel, office procedures, medical equipment and medical supplies have been chosen with much thought and care to provide quality medical services in a pleasant, efficient and friendly atmosphere.  If you have any suggestions or complaints regarding services, charges, personnel or procedures, please tell us so we may better serve you.

What Does An Internist Do?


An internist is a primary care physician who is a specialist in adult medicine and complex medical problems.  Dr. Basra is particularly suited well to the older patient with a myriad of medical problems as well as the younger patients with complex diseases or diagnostic dilemmas.  He is fully capable of diagnosing and managing all medical conditions in adult medicine.



Dr. Basra moved to Yuba City in 1999.  He worked with Sutter North Medical Foundation in Yuba City from July 1999 until October 2004.  He served as a hospitalist at both Fremont Medical Center and Rideout Memorial Hospital concentrating on hospital based medicine and critical care.
